    The Role

    The research and development Chemical Engineering intern will work in the Advanced Process and Materials (APM) group, with a focus on bringing new product designs to market.  The position primarily involves running experiments to identify assembly, cleaning and packaging processes that will meet design specifications of new products.  In addition, this position may include research to gain fundamental understanding of specific cleaning mechanisms.  Intern will gain valuable experience in semi-conductor filter design and manufacturing as well as testing protocols.


    In this role you will

    • Conduct research under direction of a more senior engineer to identify assembly, cleaning and packaging processes that will meet design specifications of new products. 
    • Provide accurate timeline requirements for project tasks and clearly present project details.
    • Communicate progress including recommendations for improvement on a frequent basis.
    • Use critical thinking and problem solving, constantly striving to improve the product development process
    • Adapt to project scope changes, analyzing and resolving problems and making quick, responsible decisions with limited information
    • Creativity & Innovation – co-ops are asked to bring new ideas and out of the box thinking to solve complex engineering challenges
