    The Role

    The Director of Global Master Data Management will develop and implement global data management systems, processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy. 


    This position manages resources directly and indirectly across functions and divisions, leads company initiatives, establishes configuration management policies and procedures, drives and develops improvements of the data management processes, ensures security and compliance and provides training. The position will have an active role in supporting roll outs and data migrations of SAP and integration of SAP during acquisitions.



    • Align the MDM vision and strategy with the organization's strategic vision by clarifying what, why and how trusted master data contributes to business or mission value;
    • Measure progress toward business goals by creating clear MDM program metrics, setting a baseline and linking these metrics to business benefit and data value metrics;
    • Ensure accurate master data by creating a formal governance program that identifies and assigns the appropriate business owner of each data field; specifies the frequency that each data field needs to be reviewed; trains business owners on the global data definitions for the data fields they own; trains business owners on the create, change, extension and extinction procedures and ensures these procedures are used accordingly; holds business owners explicitly responsible and accountable for reviewing the master data on the specified frequency to ensure it is correct and in accordance with the global standard data definitions;
    • Change / streamline the master data and business organization structures and roles as needed to effectively steward and leverage trusted master data across new and improved business processes;
    • Develop and implement consistent global standard Entegris procedures, processes and policies for creating, changing, reviewing, extending and extincting master data across the entire Entegris ERP platform;
    • Develop standardized roles, responsibilities and standard user profiles. Work with IT to develop and implement data security processes and procedures.

    In this role you will

    • Serve as lead authority on Data Governance for the Material Master, Vendor and Customer fields in SAP as well as for additional master data in SAP and other systems in the future;
    • Identify and assign the appropriate business owner of each data field and specify the frequency at which each data field should be reviewed;
    • Train business owners on the global data definitions for the data fields they own;
    • Hold business owners explicitly responsible and accountable for reviewing the master data within the specified frequency to ensure it is correct and in accordance with the global standard data definitions;
    • Train business owners on the create, change, extension and extinction procedures and ensure these procedures are used correctly;
    • Develop and implement the use of global standard automated workflows to regulate the change, creation, extension and extinction process so that only approved and accurate data is uploaded, approved and maintained by the appropriate business owners;
    • Develop and implement a periodic review of all master data, vendor data and customer data to ensure data is current and accurate across functions and divisions as well as provide metrics to ensure the reviews are completed;
    • Provide work direction and guidance to direct reports and divisional resources to assure completion of assigned tasks and other duties;
    • Responsible for policy and procedure development reviews / improvements and facilitating procedure updates with process owners;
    • Assure that all company personnel are adequately trained in the principals, policies, and procedures of the configuration management system;
    • Support Business Projects including integrations, SAP roll outs, etc.;
    • Interact with and manage virtual/global team members;
    • Drive process improvement;
    • Engage and educate business owners;
    • Provide operations with timely service;
    • Promote Quality Incident Free mind-set;
    • Focus on process excellence and data quality.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • 10+ years’ experience effectively working with and implementing master data systems, processes and procedures across functions, countries, regions, tax boundaries required;
    • 10+ years’ experience in master data management in SAP ECC6 required. Preferred to have experience implementing SAP procurement, production planning in SAP ECC6.
    • SAP MM and SAP PP certification required;
    • SAP Implementation experience and/or acquisition integration experience preferred;
    • Experience implementing automated work preferred;
    • Experience with SAP Integrated Business Planning module preferred;
    • Experience successfully communicating complex technical concepts, processes and procedures to all levels of audiences from senior managers to end-users;
    • Ability to work in/lead a team environment;
    • Must be able to interpret data and perform math and statistical functions as it applies to the functions of the position;
    • Ability to clearly and accurately define problems by collecting data and facts and the ability to develop solutions to those problems;
    • Ability to Travel globally up to 40% over some time periods for certain projects -Normal travel estimated to be 25%.
