    The Role

    Do you have a passion for operational excellence in planning, scheduling, inventory management and continuous improvement?  If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to lead a team of experienced materials professionals to improve and sustain a world class materials team for our Burnet, Texas specialty chemicals factory.  In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to partner with business unit stakeholders to manage the factory’s raw material and finished goods availability in accordance with a strategic long range as well as the annual operating plan. Not only will you support our high volume manufacturing operations, you will also lead a critical function in support of new product development for our global customer base.

    In this role you will

    • Develop a highly capable production planning and inventory control team through strong performance management and development;
    • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through budget planning and management;
    • Seek continuous improvement opportunities with an emphasis on cost reduction, supply chain reliability and sustainability;
    • Incorporate business process and responsibilities that consider tactical elements of reverse supply chain;
    • Development and maintenance of raw material inventory and safety stock strategies in accordance with BU strategy, customer service and loss management strategies; particularly for Refurb area;
    • Communicate projected raw material/operational constraints and work collaboratively with the Procurement, Logistics and Quality organizations to develop mitigation strategies;
    • Manage a high degree of proactive collaboration with internal process partners and personally manage the supply plan communication process with stakeholders;
    • Develop leading and lagging performance metrics, conduct root cause analyses and develop appropriate action plans;
    • Collaborate with matrix partners to enhance business process and toolset development and utilization;
    • Provide direction and expertise toward the successful management of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process;
    • Drive accountability and closure of constraints in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing. 
    • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain team to plan for supply control/supply constraints;
    • Create and implement processes and procedures in conjunction with Logistics, EBS and Global Supply Chain for distribution and global inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize costs;
    • Develop a vision and a multi-year road map that focuses on achieving excellence in the foundational elements of planning, scheduling and inventory management in conjunction with Global Supply Chain and EBS.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in Operations or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
    • APICS certification a plus (CPIM or CIRM);
    • 5 years of supply chain management experience, preferably working in a cross-functional environment;
    • Experience as master scheduler preferred;
    • Experience with inventory planning and control;
    • Experience with production planning and scheduling;
    • Knowledge and experience in MRP and/or ERP systems inventory control, materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning modules;
    • Working knowledge of SAP;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze data and turn data into action;
    • Demonstrated success managing or participating in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
    • Supply chain discipline in chemical/gas manufacturing or other high-tech industries preferred;
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals as well as leading cross-functional teams;
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders;
    • Excellent decision-making ability with the confidence to implement those decisions;
    • Proven record of success in a dynamic customer focused environment.
