    The Role

    We are seeking a Finance Director - Korea responsible for statutory and USGAAP financial reporting, internal controls and financial planning & analysis for our Korean operations. The position will be located in Suwon, Korea.

    In this role you will

    • Report local and regional statutory financial results timely and accurately, while being a low cost provider of shared services;
    • Work with regional and US Accounting Teams to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and US GAAP;
    • Assume responsibility for internal controls in the Region by working with peers to ensure that controls are effective, efficient and are operating as intended;
    • Provide Korea Leadership Team with monthly metric reporting and work proactively with the Team to achieve revenue, expenditure and profitability targets;
    • Work closely with Korea General Manager, Regional Country Managers and Functional Department Directors to ensure that financial considerations and justifications are part of key decision making process and that the financial impacts of their decisions are understood;
    • Work with Korea General Manager, Regional Country Managers and Functional Department Directors to prepare business cases for new opportunities / strategic investments planned in the region;
    • Implement cash flow modeling for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of expenditures
    • Work with business partners to expand, align, standardize and streamline processes to improve efficiency (including the elimination of redundant or unnecessary tasks);
    • Build team that is adequately resourced and encompasses a passion for teamwork
    • Work closely with each region's tax advisers to keep abreast of any new regulations or tax law changes and mitigate/reduce compliance and any statutory risk;
    • Support the Director of Tax in evaluating/implanting tax strategies in the region;
    • Develop the Korea Finance Team to expand their professional knowledge, system skills, processes, and global view;
    • Other special projects, as required

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • BS or BA in accounting. Masters would be a plus.
    • AICPA exam passed
    • 15-25 years progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years of recent experience working for a US manufacturer
    • 3-5 years public accounting experience
    • Solid spoken and written English skills
    • Experience retaining and building teams
    • Experience in process improvements and productivity improvements
    • Willing to relocate to Suwon
    • Business partnering skills
