    The Role

    In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the development of precursors for Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) applications.  Your hands-on experience in synthesizing and handling of air and moisture-sensitive organometallic compounds will be integral to success.  Bring your knack to build rapport across cross-functional teams and desire to serve as a mentor to junior technical personnel to further enhance our talented team.  If you thrive in a highly-collaborative, fast-paced environment this may be the perfect role for you!

    In this role you will

    • Independently and in concert with technical staff, lead the synthesis and purification of air- and moisture-sensitive organometallic precursors for CVD/ALD applications;
    • Maintain / own lab equipment required to perform the job (i.e. glove boxes, etc.);
    • Conduct Thermal Stability testing of promising compounds;
    • Coordinate the analysis of synthesized compounds, as needed (NMR, STA);
    • Present technical data within the research and development group and to customers, as needed;
    • Document all experiments, procedures and results thoroughly;
    • Fulfill R&D sample orders involving the synthesis, purification, container filling and shipment of air-sensitive organometallic compounds up to 5 kg quantities.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • MS or PhD (preferred) in Chemistry with >5 years of industrial experience;
    • Demonstrated academic or industry experience in organometallic syntheses;
    • Experience in handling air- and moisture-sensitive chemicals is required;
    • Experience in chemical analysis is preferred (NMR, STA, GC-MS, ICP-MS);
    • Experience in high-purity materials handling and methods are required.
