    The Role

    The Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for the justification, design, procurement, validation, and commissioning of automation systems & capital equipment, as well as sustaining current control systems and process automation. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with other engineers and operations personnel to shape the future state of the factory and its architecture.

    In this role you will

    • Primary contact for sustaining controls and automation in the factory; including coaching process mechanics through break/fix, scenarios and assisting the NPI, Process and RD&E engineers on new projects.
    • Own systematic back integration of legacy processes with addition of modern controls 
    • Own documentation of current state P&ID’s, source code and automation related hardware

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • In-depth experience with the Allen-Bradley platform is required; Logix-based systems with distributed I/O, machine-level HMI, VFDs, and servos.
    • Networking experience with Ethernet/IP
    • Ability to read and generate electrical schematics, panel layouts, safety systems, P&ID in AutoCAD
    • Familiarity with Industry Standards such as NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, ISO 13849-1/IEC 62061, SEMI S22 
    • Familiarity with SCADA systems and software, specifically Ignition SCADA (by Inductive Automation) 
    • Familiarity with SPC software. 
    • Experience with 3rd party data transactions; OPC, OPC-UA, etc.
    • Experience with MS-SQL, process historical data storage and data mining.
    • The ability to develop mobile platforms
    • AutoCAD (or equivalent software) experience is required for panel layout work

    Your success will be measured by

    • Routinely integrate manual machines with modern control systems. Exercises judgment in prioritizing requests.
    • Ability to lead teams and implement vision 2020 elements related to automation through continuous improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
    • Develop new replacement solutions for legacy equipment.
