    The Role

    More than ever, materials are driving advances in the next generations of semiconductor devices. Entegris’ Advanced Deposition Materials business is seeking an experienced R&D Manager, based in Danbury, CT, to lead a team of chemists and technologists in the development and introduction of new materials and related technologies.  This position offers the opportunity to make an impact in the advancement of semiconductor materials technology and play a key role in one of Entegris’ fastest growing businesses.

    In this role you will

    • Work closely with customers, coworkers from other functions, and partner companies, the Manager will define technical requirements for new products and technologies.
    • Lead R&D teams in the identification, development and commercialization of new materials meeting both technical and market requirements
    • As part of a business management team, manage both individual chemistry development projects, execution of technical tasks and the portfolio of developmental projects
    • Implement continuous improvement around the core synthetic skills and purification of materials, while improving group efficiency
    • Utilize your technical and leadership skills to collaborate and influence development and commercialization of precursors and related technologies taking place in Texas and Korea.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • PhD in chemistry
    • Hands-on industrial experience in precursor molecule synthesis, purification, analysis and packaging
    • Ideally, experience with thin-film deposition and/or collaborating with process scientists on how precursors behave in ALD and CVD processes
    • A track record of successful product development and customer interactions
    • Good project management skills and the ability to coach and lead others

    Your success will be measured by

    • Development of novel precursors and manufacturing processes, including synthetic pathways, purification, packaging and analytical techniques
    • Development of intellectual property (IP) to protect and leverage the innovations of the R&D team
    • Breadth of the development portfolio, depth and quality of individual projects, and the speed and quality of execution in new product development
    • Improvements in team efficiency and output along with professional and technical development of individual team members
