    The Role

    Seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chaska. We're looking for a precision-oriented professional with highly developed leadership qualities and the ability to work efficiently and within budget. The successful candidate's primary function and role will deal with the conception, design and development of materials. He or she will serve as liaison between our operations and manufacturing team and the engineering department. We're looking for someone who enjoys contributing to an innovative, forward-thinking team and who can always keep the end user in mind.

    In this role you will

    • The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for working with various manufacturing managers in developing and implementing world class manufacturing products.
    • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
    • Apply working knowledge of product design to the manufacturing process.
    • Create processes and procedures to help the company meet quality standards, budgetary goals as well as performance quotas.
    • Design and develop new products and product mock-ups alongside the creative team as appropriate.
    • Oversight of production equipment, including root cause analysis and resolution of failures, implementing efficiencies, and executing capital equipment projects.
    • Perform Installation, Operation, and Performance qualifications for equipment and process changes.
    • Transfer of new products from development into manufacturing.
    • Complete root cause analysis of product issues and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Provide technical support for supplier quality issues.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure seamless collaboration and cohesiveness teamwork.
    • Establish a safe, repeatable and effective and efficient work sequence.
    • Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
    • Leads projects and ensures all internal and external stakeholder requirements are met.
    • Develops and updates product development plans and schedules.
    • Holds project team members accountable for timely completion of assigned tasks and activities.
    • Authors and/or reviews Standard Operating Processes, work instructions, test specifications, and other documents for accuracy using the ECO Process.
    • Follows and ensures compliance to departmental procedures.
    • Develops and maintains audit functions (product, process, and operating system) ensuring quality systems and products are consistent with internal documentation, standards, and customer requirements.
    • Develop standardized design criteria across product lines.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
    • 3-5 years of professional experience in a relatable field, preferably in the polymer industry with molding and machining focus.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • Proficient with statistical and process improvement methodologies.
    • Knowledge of qualification and validation protocols.
    • Experience with SAP and SolidWorks preferred.
    • Ability to lead and support cross functional teams and effectively communicate technical information.
    • Willing and able to work in a clean room environment
    • Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing certification or experience also desirable.
