    The Role

    Entegris is seeking an Informatics Engineer who is responsible for implementing and providing support for the Specialty Chemical and Engineered Materials Analytical Services team located in Danbury, CT.  The LIMS Admin will be responsible for implementing and administering the current LIMS system.  They will also provide training for laboratory staff on the use and maintenance of existing LIMS systems.

    A qualified candidate must be able to work closely and effectively with Analytical Chemists, Scientists, Quality analysts and other Engineering personnel in a global environment. 

    In this role you will

    • Recommends and/or implements system enhancements as needed to make best use of the LIMS application and improve the end user experience
    • Provide end-user application support on-demand including troubleshooting and resolution
    • Drive necessary improvements in laboratory system applications to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness
    • Tests and analyzes new product specifications and analysis methods as per routine electronic change request process
    • Identifies integration points with other systems such as SAP, Camline and understands overall technical architecture
    • Ensure data management and backup plans are executed.
    • Develops and documents support plans for laboratory systems. Interacts with Service Desk to coordinate support activities and application knowledge transfer
    • Maintains instrumentation validation and performs procedures for product testing purpose
    • Interacts with laboratory staff to understand requirements and design solutions
    • Proactively raises technology related risks, issues, and challenges
    • Responsible for installation applications or liaising with vendor for installation related activities (new implementations and standard upgrades)
    • Upgrade and maintain database and application servers when needed

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant engineering required
    • Prior experience with LabWare LIMS systems or similar LIMS system. Knowledge of architecture for the laboratory systems including ELN and LIMS
    • Experience in system administration using Citrix XenApp 6.5 or later, Windows Server 2008 or later, Oracle 11g or later
    • Knowledge of SQL, VB or any programming experience is a plus
    • Must possess strong knowledge of laboratory technology systems development life cycle, application development or systems integration
    • Prior experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred
