    The Role

    The Process Development Engineer is responsible for developing new Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) pad conditioning products. This involves knowledge of new processes, such as texturing and CVD(Chemical Vapor Disposition) coating, which are component processes of our next generation product as well as doing continuous improvement (CIP) of legacy processes. The position will involve solving customer issues as well as thinking about strategic processes involved in longer term products and develop new CMP pad conditioner products. In all aspects, the successful candidate will be expected to drive a culture of teamwork making exciting products which our customers value. 

    In this role you will

    • Responsible for developing new pad conditioning products;
    • Develop innovative technologies and create intellectual property which are used to enable new products;
    • Meet technical milestones working with project/product managers to drive new products through the New Product Introduction (NPI) funnel;
    • Will coordinate activity with cross functional teams such as Applications, Operations, Marketing and Sales;
    • Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions for all new processes/activities to enable new product introduction;
    • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary;
    • Maintain a safe working environment;

    • S./M.S. degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics;
    • Minimum of two to four years related process engineering experience;
    • Experience in the use of DOE/SPC tools and associated data analysis;
    • Project management experience, with a track record of planning, driving and executing projects;
    • Knowledge of a broad range of software for data analysis and presentation. Minitab expertise is a strong plus. MS Excel and Access skills highly valued as well;
    • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated use of associated tools;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to develop and present technical materials to internal and external customers;
    • Ability to adapt changing responsibilities quickly based on business needs;
    • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus;
    • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification a plus;
    • CAD/SolidWorks experience a plus.
