    The Role

    Apply your expertise to help shape this newly created position!  The Software Asset Specialist collaborates across the global IT organization to manage commercial relationships and overall performance of our software vendors.  In this role, you will oversee provisioning, support, hosting and management of third party software, and manages the purchase, deployment, maintenance, use and disposal of software and online (SaaS) applications.

    In this role you will

    • Reviews software, managed services and hosting requests to understand business requirements and objectives.
    • Leads contract negotiations, reviewing all agreements for pricing models, metric clarity and accountability to optimize contract terms and costs, both initial and long-term.
    • Prepares and maintains an application profile and governance model for each software asset to promote clarity of roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders, who include application owners, IT, vendors, managed services partners, hosting partners, etc.
    • Partners with application owners to oversee managed services and hosting partner delivery performance.
    • Actively monitors the software asset lifecycle from initial acquisition through disposal to evaluate continued fit/value proposition, version/patching/security compliance, contract compliance, vendor performance and risk, etc.
    • Conducts regular audits of software license inventory utilization and forecasts demand. Identifies variances between entitlements and use of software.  Engages stakeholders and vendors to rectify variances by adding or reducing entitlements as needed.
    • Prepare and track capital and expense budgets for software / license acquisition, software maintenance, SaaS subscriptions and managed/hosting services.
    • Prepare and maintain a schedule of payments based on contract terms for managed software and services. Facilitate the timely preparation of Purchase Orders and processing of vendor invoices.
    • Demonstrates adaptability in a constantly changing environment, ensuring all documentation of policies, processes and procedures are up to date accordingly.
