The Role

The Market Manager will be responsible for managing the Ink Conditioning Market, within the Graphic Arts market, through Entegris membrane and depth filtration, purification and other separation technology (degasser) solutions. This Manager will drive the sales and marketing strategy around these applications, help define the product portfolio and long range plan for this market. He or she will be a key contact for product information, customization requests, technical questions, pricing guidelines and other customer interaction related to the quoting, sales and support process for the market they manage. This individual will also work closely with Entegris colleagues, including Business Development, R&D, Applications Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Account Managers, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, and Customer Support to ensure Entegris fully supports existing and prospective customers. The Manager will assist in developing and presenting business cases for any products that require Entegris to invest significant capital or development resources in order to execute. This individual will be based in Tokyo, Japan.

In this role you will

List the primary job duties and responsibilities - Outline the core responsibilities of the position, highlight the day-to-day activities of the position and specify how the position fits into the organization.

  • Develop and maintain strategic plans including product roadmaps, financials, competitive landscape, market share data, and customer needs and requirements; communicate and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Operations leadership to ensure organizational alignment
  • Develop and maintain multi-level customer contacts and relationships to strengthen collaboration, grow business and partnerships
  • Work closely with key customers to identify and understand their product requirements, in particular relating to customization of products
  • Develop strong intimacy and partnerships with the Equipment Manufacturers and the Ink Manufacturers.
  • Understand corporate, division and business unit goals and priorities, and apply this knowledge in product strategies to achieve goals
  • Serve as evangelist and technical expert in industry, market, customers, competitors and products
  • Develop product forecasts accurately and timely; monitor performance to forecast and adjust business plans accordingly
  • Assist regional sales people in building and maintaining relationships with key customers;
  • Support training within the selling operation related to the quoting, complaints and change control for products and implement training actions either personally or via the corporate training group;
  • Take ownership for securing the assistance of other functions outside of Sales (e.g. Engineering, Quality) to resolve customer issues;

Ability to travel periodically, up to 30%

EXAMPLE Qualifications include:

  • B.S. in an Engineering and/or Science discipline and 5+ years of experience or equivalent.       Engineering degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the various areas of applications, product management and customer support with emphasis on separation processes.
  • Knowledge of the Graphic Arts, Printing & Ink markets required.
  • Direct knowledge of the use of filtration and plastics in ink applications, including during the manufacturing of inks.
  • Experience with ink OEMs required.
  • Knowledge of membrane filtration, depth filtration and membrane contactors is preferred.
  • Experience with Wide Format Digital Printing, Industrial Product Labelling & Marking, Small Office/Home Office Printing and Analog Printing is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, as well as the ability to give guidance and recommendations to end-users.
  • Strong skills in change management, problem solving, customer orientation, product technology, team skills and quality.

Knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as MS Word and Excel
