The Role

We are excited to bring eager, talented students on board and provide them with an unparalleled internship experience. 

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting the Life Sciences product line.  The intern will work directly with two Manufacturing Engineers to optimize manufacturing work flow, work cell design, and overall organization for new Life Science work centers in a cleanroom environment.  The position is located at our Bloomington, MN flexible packaging facility.

In this role you will

  • Evaluate and map the manufacturing process flow for all LifeScience products. Implement more efficient work flows and work centers.
  • Evaluate manufacturing cycle times. Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Implement changes to mitigate production capacity risks.
  • Evaluate and map machine changeover activities. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline these activities.
  • Utilize 5S principles to organize the manufacturing and maintenance areas in the LifeScience cleanroom.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Undergraduate Sophomore or Junior year in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree program.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Available to work 40 hours a week.
  • Experience with Lean principles is desired.
