    You will oversee the daily operational and administrative functions, activities, and technical projects of our Analytical Services Labs. You will also be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training personnel on analytical testing and services. In line with our values, which is fostering an environment of teamwork, you will collaborate cross-functionally with technicians, scientists, engineers, leadership, sales & marketing and global technical team members.

    In this role you will

    • Responsible for analytical operations and technical leadership for the Analytical Laboratory team;
    • Inspire, coach and mentor team to achieve excellence;
    • Continually improve processes for safety, quality, efficiency and sustainability;
    • Enhance laboratory productivity and profitability by forecasting accurate and realistic annual operating and capital equipment budgets;
    • Reduce laboratory operating expenses, while maintaining or improving overall quality and service, by identifying and leveraging incentives with vendors to acquire new products or services for the laboratory;
    • Provide developmental coaching and opportunities for team to reach performance aspirations and career goals and objectives;
    • Use product and testing expertise to collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes in product development and quality problems;
    • Respond to customers’ feedback on technical problems and improve product value as well as customer satisfaction;
    • Continuous training on the various analytical techniques and methods.

    Traits we believe make a strong candidate

    • Masters of Science in chemistry, physics or engineering required, Ph.D. preferred;
    • Solid knowledge of analytical chemistry, materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology;
    • Lab instrument (HPLC, IC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-AES, AFM, SEM/FIB, FTIR) operations and maintenance experience preferred;
    • LIMS set up and administration experience;
    • Prior experience managing laboratory services in a chemical / gas manufacturing environment;
    • Hands on experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA’s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology;
    • Strong hands on expertise in chemical analysis related to blended cleans and advanced deposition materials;
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
    • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace;
    • Ability to speak Mandarin or Korean is a plus;
    • Ability to travel 15%, some international.    

    Your success will be measured by

    • Improving laboratory consistency and quality ISO compliance by creating and revising laboratory policies and procedure;
    • Set up and continued administration of the LIMS system;
    • Maintain, write, and implement laboratory and distribution policies and procedures;
    • Enable quality initiatives as they relate to the customer, corporate objectives, quality planning, the quality policy, process improvement and new business goals and objectives;  
    • Uses proper controls for analytical instrumentation, validates and verifies data and takes corrective action when necessary;
    • Tests and analyzes R&D samples, manufactured materials, and in-process samples when needed and in timely manner;
    • Confers with process engineers, development scientists, and manufacturing personnel regarding results and research, prepares technical reports and presentations to promote learning;
    • Ability to conduct projects independently and navigate ambiguity;
    • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely.
