The Role

The Senior Tax Accountant position is critical to successful accounting for income taxes and related financial statement disclosures. The position performs global accounting for income taxes, tax return preparation work, transfer pricing activities and other international tax issues. 

 

The Senior Tax Accountant position represents a unique opportunity to join a driven and collaborative tax team that interacts with finance colleagues globally.

In this role you will

Accounting for Income Taxes

  • Prepares quarterly and annual worldwide tax provision, including calculating the current provision, maintaining the inventory of deferred tax assets and liabilities, developing the global tax rate reconciliation, partnering with foreign finance colleagues to review foreign tax provisions, and preparing financial statement disclosures. In addition to the tax provision the Senior Tax Accountant will maintain the ASC 740.10 inventory of uncertain tax positions and lead the process of evaluating uncertain tax positions on a quarterly and annual basis.

Transfer Pricing

  • Computes, documents and regularly analyzes inter-company transactions such as sales of tangible goods, loans, royalties, headquarter charges, and non recurring transactions, and final legal entity operating results. Interacts with global locations to establish transfer prices and assist with domestic and foreign transfer price reporting.

Tax Filings

  • Works as part of the team to prepare the US federal and state income tax returns, including the subpart F calculation, foreign tax credit, Form 5471, Section 199, and other components of the return as directed. Maintains earnings and profits and tax pool records for foreign entities.

Tax Research

  • Performs research regarding the application of tax laws and regulations to past, current and proposed activities and factual situations. Documents research and conclusions in a logical and coherent fashion.

Mergers and Acquisitions Integration

  • Assists as needed in integrating newly acquired entities for compliance and provision purposes. Also assists with purchase accounting.

Controversy and Audits

  • Responds to information requests from federal, state, local, and non-U.S. taxing authorities. Assists in maintaining tax department documentation, suggesting and implementing improvements.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and application of tax laws (federal, state and local) and of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), legal and business principles
  • Strong systems skills including the ability to manipulate data extracted from SAP and streamline its utilization in a variety of calculations
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the requirements of ASC 740 (tax provision) and the ability to apply to many fact patterns
  • Organizational skills
