This position requires experience in market research, customer prospecting, technical support activities and technical selling using a cost of ownership approach.

 

Under the general supervision of the Sales Manager, Glass Forming (with guidance from the Director, EDM & Glass Forming and Sr. Manager, EDM & Glass Forming), this position will conduct market research and prospecting to identify potential customers while creating sales opportunities for glass forming materials as manufactured by Poco Graphite.

This position provides technical expertise while partnering with current and prospective customers to demonstrate product value. This position will also assist in developing plans and establishing strategies to promote and capture sales within the targeted customers and application within the Glass Forming market. This position will also support the sales and marketing efforts and provide business analytical tools for decision making.

 

This position will be based in Suwon, Korea and will require frequent domestic and international travel as directed by management.

The Role

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct market assessment, segmentation and develop target customer list
  • Develop relationships to determine market potential, timing and product lifecycle
  • Develop strategies and tactics to execute sales plan
  • Achieve sales plan through establishing appropriate channels
  • Participate in local or global business unit developmental projects
  • Communicate the status of the market and BU activities
  • Develop and maintain multi-level customer contacts and relationships to strengthen collaboration and partnerships to facilitate business growth
  • Create opportunities and coordinate product sampling, customer evaluation and qualification process to finalize conversions while tracking and monitoring evaluation status and sales
  • Collect and communicate competitive information from the industry and provide to management
  • Provide updates on new business activities via project plans, demo database and activity matrix
  • Support the development and positioning of GF products and services provided by Poco Graphite

In this role you will

Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):

Must have / be:

  • BS or equivalent degree in Business, Science, or Engineering or equivalent experience in GF and/or graphite process                
  • Technical aptitude with five years of experience promoting and selling technical products and services
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • Possess strong project management, presentation and communication skills (English speaking and writing skills mandatory)
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision, be self-motivated and have strong drive to succeed
  • Technically able to develop/prepare technical documentation, marketing materials and sales literature
  • Ability to foster relationships with key industry personnel and develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels
  • Good knowledge of original equipment manufacturers in the Glass Forming industry
  • Good understanding of competitive graphite, metallic, and ceramics materials for Glass Forming applications
  • Good understanding of total job costs selling approach
  • The ability to provide training on materials and process for Glass Forming applications
  • A good understanding of business reporting and analysis
  • Generate and Develop new opportunities from expansion of existing customers and core industry in the future

 

  • Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of high temperature materials and applications
  • Preffered +3 years of experience in sales and marketing
  • Excellent MS office suite skills
