Overview

Entegris is seeking a Quality Engineer who will support multiple product families by applying quality tools to continually improve products and processes in a variety of manufacturing and business environments. This position requires the ability to build relationships internally throughout the organization, externally with contract manufacturers and suppliers, as well as with our customers.  This individual will effectively utilize quality tools to solve problems reactively, prevent problems proactively, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that the voice of the customer is integrated into our contract manufacturing operations and suppliers.

 

Qualified candidates will have appropriate technical acumen to assist and instruct Entegris’ factory teams to meet or surpass requirements and expectations of our challenging industry and customer base. Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, customer interface, project management, manufacturing operations and product realization are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the use of quality tools and practices (trend charting, Paretos, 8D, CAPA etc.) with interdepartmental teams to drive resolution of internally and customer discovered failure modes;
  • Manage the effectiveness of root cause analysis and resolution using appropriate metrics and feedback;
  • Create and review internal and customer Statistical Quality Controls (SQC) to determine areas for product and process capability improvements. This involves review and analysis of raw material through finished good data sets using statically derived control limits. 
  • Interface with supply chain, engineering and production teams to establish and maintain product quality requirements and manage product processes through both internal and external manufacturing locations;
  • Drive factory personnel to improve and maintain performance in order to minimize risk to Entegris and its customers. 
  • Proactively identify and assure implementation and completion of continuous improvement plans (CIPs) internally and upstream with suppliers;
  • Lead and coach both internal personnel and suppliers using professional expertise and experience to improve process/product quality;
  • Partner with sales, marketing and customers to get the Voice of the Customer (VOC) as it relates to processes and systems associated with product quality and service to customers;
  • Ability to travel 10%, domestic and international.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering); 
  • Experience working and leading interdepartmental teams to failure mode resolution;
  • Prior experience working in a chemical / gas manufacturing environment preferred;
  • Experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA’s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology;
  • Practical application skills of statistical methods preferred. 
  • Quality engineer certification (CQE) or similar quality certification a plus;
  • Knowledge of requirements associated with the ISO 9001 and GMP standards beneficial;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
