Overview

Entegris is seeking a hands-on, innovative Quality Engineer to provide quality support for products in our Advanced Materials Handing business.  The Advanced Materials Handling products provide entire system solutions for building a complete, leak-free, reliable fluid handling network from bulk chemical distribution to the point of use.  This includes fittings, valves, fluid handling accessories and other custom products.
 

The Quality Engineer must be self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively to complete projects and assignments, solve technical issues and customer complaints.  This role is based in our Chaska, MN manufacturing facility and reports to the site Quality Director.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality as a team member on New Product Development Teams (development of FMEA, inspection and control plans, data collection and analysis, etc.) to ensure products released to manufacturing meet quality performance goals.
  • Leads validation and qualification for product, process and supplier change management activity.
  • Generates, analyzes, and reports on the levels of product quality within the assigned manufacturing areas, including Pareto, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Studies.
  • Participates in material disposition decisions to support ongoing production for areas of responsibility.
  • Leads product, process and customer issue resolution during all phases of the product life cycle using tools such as 8D, Six Sigma DMAIC and Statistical Process Control to ensure effective corrective and preventive action and closure within timing goals.
  • Supports and maintains failure analysis process that may include both mechanical and electrical components.  Ensures feedback, corrective action communication, and implementation are consistent with customer expectations.
  • Participates in continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma projects) within assigned manufacturing areas and quality processes.
  • Authors and/or reviews Standard Operating Processes, work instructions, test specifications, and other documents for accuracy.
  • Supports ISO certification, customer and supplier audits as a subject matter expert, as needed.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally to support product and customer needs.

Qualifications

 

Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or related technical field with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with products having both electrical and mechanical properties.  Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience with applicable quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, DOE and analysis tools such as: histograms, pareto, process mapping, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving & Six Sigma methodology;
  • Experience with SAP helpful
  • Quality Engineer certification (CQE), Six Sigma Green or Brown Belt or similar quality certification;
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding helpful
