Overview

Entegris is a market leader in the high purity chemicals and delivery hardware for advanced semiconductor processes.   We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Chemical Engineer who will function as part of a cross-functional product development team and lead new process and equipment development activities at our chemical production facility in Burnet, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a “Safety First” culture by performing equipment and process FMEAs, Job Safety Assessments (JSA);
  • Responsible for high purity, new process scale-up and transition to manufacturing activities. Process scale-up activities could include but not limited to:  synthesis, distillation, sublimation, and other unit operations. 
  • Work with development chemists, manufacturing engineers, and other functions to scale-up new process manufacturing equipment and methods which meet business needs around cost, availability, time to market, quality, and reliability;
  • Write detailed work instructions and process tracking forms for the new processes while setting up new part numbers, bills of materials, and routings in SAP;
  • Work with marketing and mechanical engineers to identify the optimal delivery container for the new products being scaled up.
  • Define process monitoring and controls for PLC automation and defining the sequence of operations for the new process.
  • Manage finished goods and raw materials performance utilizing strong SPC discipline. Work closely with analytical chemists to develop or improve monitoring methods of materials;
  • Respond to customer concerns in a professional and technically competent manner to gain trust and confidence in our engineering strength and understanding of our product performance and control;
  • Hands on troubleshooting of tactical issues with the manufacturing of our products and mentoring at all levels to push learning to factory personnel;
  • Lead projects to expand manufacturing capacity, transition products to high volume manufacturing, or implement continuous improvements to existing products.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set:

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering is preferred but related technical discipline will be considered with applicable experience;
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering in chemical or semiconductor manufacturing preferred;
  • Experience with Chemical Synthesis and Distillation is a plus;
  • Experience with ISO quality standards for product/process control;
  • Detailed knowledge of materials compatibility for aggressive chemistries;
  • Experience with mechanical design of equipment for chemical manufacturing is desired;
  • Statistical process controls experience or design of experiments experience.
