The Inventory Control Operator is responsible for measuring; maintaining and reporting inventory accuracy, packaging & assembly of finished goods, shipping/receiving and material movements.  Works closely with Operations Management, Shift Supervisors, Buyer, Planner and Inventory Control Coordinator.


Material Movements

  • Performs daily cycle counting
  • Monitors, records and processes failed transactions daily
  • Reconciles and processes miscellaneous inventory transactions and implements corrective action as required
  • Provides basic instruction to operating groups on proper use of inventory transactions
  • Performs QN initiated material movements
  • Issues materials to production orders, service orders, etc.
  • Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary; labels shelves.

Production Control

  • Prints/initiates production/service orders to meet business needs.
  • Maintains Kanban levels in MRP controllers, escalates issues when they arise.
  • Maintains supplies for production.


  • Performs shipping and receiving transactions.


Demonstrates support for overall organizational goals.


Demonstrates willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in order to support the overall organization.  This includes some assembly and packaging of finished goods.


Ability to work well individually and as part of a team


Demonstrated ability to perform tasks to completion

  • Mandatory Education: High School;
  • Mandatory Experience: 3 years in manufacturing environment.
  • Type of Experience: Inventory management; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel with good computer skills; knowledge of accounting principles, material movement, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Preferred Education: Vocational; Preferred Experience:  3 Years;  Type of Experience:  Warehouse OR Materials Coordinating
  • May require lifting and carrying small objects; moving boxes for cycle counting.  
  • Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling of boxes, as well as frequent movement (walking) throughout the warehouse
  • Overtime is required periodically.

  • Lean & 6 Sigma Competencies - The employee is required to have at minimum working knowledge and previous work experience in the following competencies. Visual Mgmt – SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery)
