Overview

Entegris is seeking a Bilingual IT Desktop Service Specialist to join our multinational team in Yamagata, Japan.  The IT Desktop engineer will be responsible for providing level-2 support to our company regarding their day-to-day office IT infrastructure issues and incidents, both in Japanese and English.  This is a great opportunity for those who have experience as a bilingual helpdesk or junior desktop support engineer at the enterprise level.

Responsibilities

Resolve calls from end users of our multinational clients regarding technical issues and incidents in their everyday office IT infrastructure environment;

  • Escalate incidents to the next support level where appropriate;
  • General application and device support when required;
  • Coordination of multi-vendor hardware break-fix;
  • Basic asset management tracking and reporting;
  • Ad-hoc support duties as requested by clients;
  • Annual PC/Printer replacement task;
  • Carries out upgrades, repairs, and conversions to existing systems including replacement of component parts (i.e. keyboards, monitors, disks, etc.);
  • Diagnose hardware problems and provide support as appropriate. Install, test, and operate basic operating systems software and standard applications.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set:

 

  • Experience as an IT desktop engineer;
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills;
  • Professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress;
  • Understanding of helpdesk/desktop operations;
  • Employment experience supporting desktop equipment;
  • Knowledge of desktop devices/environment (i.e. PCs, IP phones, mobiles, printers, etc.);
  • Experience of remote support;
  • Native-level Japanese and Minimum-level English language skills (TOEIC score 500-600);
  • Positive thinking, Harmonic force within the global IT team.
