Overview

Entegris is looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist, Microscopy to join our Analytical Services Organization in Danbury, CT

 

The successful candidate will support several of our research and development teams, is results oriented and an excellent team player, providing strong scientific and technical leadership to our team. You’ll also have a solid knowledge of materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

 

  • Respond quickly and effectively to internal and external customer requests for routine requests and new methods
  • Team with external partners to expand our analytical network
  • Communicate cross functionally throughout the organization and with customers to understand and solve problems
  • Actively mentor microscopy technicians and fellow team members
  • Participate on technical project core teams to drive excellence in wafer measurement and data analysis/interpretation
  • Perform MSA’s on measurement techniques to ensure meaningful results
  • Contribute to metrology roadmap by identifying capability gaps and proposing plan to address, including objective/purpose of project, costs of project, and resources needed
  • Lead technical team in transfer of methods to and from global sites
  • Promote Entegris’ image by participating industrial conferences and seminar
  • Continuous training on the various analytical techniques and methods

Qualifications

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

 

  • Master’s degree in engineering or science or equivalent work experience preferred, PhD preferred
  • Semiconductor technology experience
  • Experience spanning TEM, EELS, SEM, dual-beam FIB, defect inspection, optical and X-ray techniques, electrical test is a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding and wide application of the technical theories, concepts, and analytical techniques in electronics failure analysis
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace 
  • Mandarin or Korean is a plus
  • Ability to travel 10% of time, some international     
  • Solid project management experience
  • Ability to develop relationships across a global organization through proactive communication

  • Use expertise to perform reverse engineering to find root cause through unique test bench setup and utilization of available analytical equipment
  • Ability to present data (text, test and images) in a concise written report that supports the technical conclusion(s) reached
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and balance multiple priorities
  • Identification of optimum analytical approaches to critical internal and external customer problems
  • The ability to work to deadlines in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to conduct project independently and navigate ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in parallel 
  • Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-language team environment
  • Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques
