The Role

Entegris is looking to meet a talented Product Development Leader who will lead with ideas and solve critical separations problems in new ways.  The focus is on life science as well as exploring additional new applications for our unique separations technology.  While this individual will manage a small technical team, he/she will still play a very active, hands on role in all phases of filtration device design and development including customer needs translation, product design, process development, prototyping, testing and documentation.  The role is based within our corporate headquarters in Billerica, MA.

In this role you will

  • Supervise a small team of engineers and technicians while engaging deeply in the technical specifics;
  • Design and develop new products for separations technology applications;
  • Design of fixtures for prototyping equipment and provide design direction for external equipment suppliers;
  • Design of injection molded plastic components using SolidWorks;
  • Conceive of manufacturing process flows and direct the implementation of new processes;
  • Design and develop thermoplastic assembly processes to fabricate separation devices;
  • Design and develop systems to test the performance of separation devices;
  • Create documentation for designs, mechanical drawings, SOPs and test methods, etc.;
  • Characterize new product performance with respect to integrity, flow, pressure and temperature specifications both empirically and through simulation using CFD, FEA and other computer aided analysis tools;
  • Fabricate prototype samples to support alpha and beta tests;
  • Support the pre-pilot production of new products and samples to key customers as needed to seed the market;
  • Transfer knowledge and capabilities to Manufacturing as products mature into Pilot Production;
  • Generate and communicate status updates to senior management within the context of a structured phase-gate process.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, related disciplines considered with appropriate experience;
  • Solid engineering experience to include design and development of liquid filters or purifiers for industrial, semiconductor / high-tech or life science applications;
  • Experience in SolidWorks with fixture design, fabrication and assembly experience;
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements in bioprocessing and emerging life science applications a plus;
  • Understanding of the single-use challenges our customer’s experience a plus;
  • Insight into bioprocessing and biomedical applications to develop commercial technologies that solve life science challenges a plus;
  • Ability to travel based on business need 10-20% (domestic and international) (10-20%).
