Candidate will be responsible for developing industrial engineering methods in the areas of factory layout and capacity. Working closely with process engineering and manufacturing, the Senior Global Industrial Engineer will create and validate capacity models for every equipment type. They will create value stream maps or process flow and use these to predict equipment purchases and recommend areas for process improvement.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and validate a capacity model to predict equipment quantities to meet technology ramps.
  • Develop Value Stream Maps to improve material, process and communication flows.
  • Responsible for design of manufacturing processes, layouts of manufacturing plants, tools, jigs, and assembly lines.
  • Candidate will develop, lead and implement projects which improve operational efficiency and deliver savings which support corporate objectives of on-time delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, etc.
  • Develop standard process for calculating product routing and lead times, fix current data accuracy issues, and work with the business unit to ensure new products are set up correctly utilizing proper standards.
  • Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information and develop and implement process solutions.
  • Assists in directing and controlling processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures. Assists with analyses and audits on processes in order to make recommendations on items such as safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, and efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, standard work, problem solving, value stream mapping, training and employee involvement.



  • Routinely works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and valuation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Experience in implementing Lean systems at the plant level (e.g. Quick Change Over, Total Predictive Maintenance, 6S, Kaizen events, level scheduling, KanBan systems, and Value Stream Mapping).
  • Ability to lead teams and implement projects through continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six Sigma with hands-on application - engaging floor practitioner.



  • Identify, test and recommend opportunities to improve legacy processes without violating change control requirements expected in the semiconductor market.
  • Understanding of the broader organization, and how this role fits into the strategic plan and overall direction.
  • Orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities at once to accomplish Company goals.
  • Take the initiative to look for and take advantage of opportunities and take independent actions and calculated risks.
  • Demonstrate ability to drive and report metrics.
  • Motivated and self-directed team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have ability to reach out, communicate and influence personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing monthly status reports, expenditures and other documentation.
  • Some travel (domestic & international) should be expected.


Education and Experience

  • Minimally a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline; Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical with applicable experience.
  • Minimally 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing with demonstrated success in yield improvement and rework/waste reduction.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with Solidworks and/ or AutoCad.
  • Demonstrate experience with designing equipment layout and work flow.
  • Demonstrate experience with developing, validating and summarizing equipment performance data for capacity modeling.
  • Experience with cleanroom facilities is beneficial. Lean or Six Sigma Training and/or Certification a Plus
