Overview

The IT Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for the support of all components of the corporate IT infrastructure: data networks, voice networks, mobility, server environments, storage networks, backup and recovery operations, email systems, Windows domains, UNIX/Linux environments, internal databases, infrastructure security, power management systems and any other core infrastructure system. This position’s responsibilities include working directly with Network and System Architects, planning, strategic technology decisions, project management and also personnel management of the global team of Systems Engineers and Network Engineers. This position is responsible for defining and administering the expense and capital budgets for global Corporate IT core infrastructure. This position can be located in either Billerica, MA or Chaska, MN.

Responsibilities

Technical:

 

  • Plans, implements and maintains robust, secure infrastructure systems at all Entegris locations worldwide. This includes Data Center operations, Data and Voice networking, and related IT security.
  • Plans and maintains reliable, scalable, and efficient systems to adhere to internal audit controls and customer requirements. Executes periodic testing of disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Researches, evaluates and recommends data center and networking hardware and software technologies based on factors such as cost effectiveness, existing capacity and integration with the desired environment, analyzing a variety of technology and vendor alternatives.
  • Monitors and analyzes system utilization, ensuring proper performance tuning and guaranteeing appropriate service levels to the user community.
  • Acts as the senior technical consultant to staff when researching new technologies or supporting existing technologies, determines and executes solutions, evaluating input from team members.
  • Technical expertise with Microsoft AD, Veritas Netbackup and Enterprise Vault, Exagrid disk-based deduplication, Cisco Call Manager/Call Manager Express, Cisco VCS/TMS and Cisco VC endpoints, Cisco switches/routers, VMWare, Trend Micro OfficeScan, Meraki Wireless, various SAN vendors, Riverbed Steelheads, Checkpoint FW, Office 365 and Azure, AWS.

 

Personnel and Budgetary Management:

 

  • Coaches team members with an emphasis on career development and fostering a cooperative, efficient organization. Helps team members understand technology and assists with problems and new technology analysis.
  • Holds regular meetings with staff to review issues and projects, and to discuss new technologies and IT infrastructure architecture; holds individual periodic 1 on 1 meetings with staff
  • Provides frequent constructive feedback to staff with the aim of coaching and developing the employee's skill set; performs formal reviews following corporate guidelines
  • Mentors staff by supporting development of soft skills including time management, project management and group communication and collaboration
  • Recruits top talent for open positions, as necessary, seeking individuals who will best service the user community and contribute to the success of Entegris
  • Defines and manages the global core IT Infrastructure budget to satisfy Entegris’s infrastructure needs while maintaining a balanced approach to cost reduction

 

Vendor and Contract Management:

  • Manages relationships with channel distributors, network, server, SAN and backup systems vendors and service providers. Maintains updated and effective hardware maintenance for all systems.
  • Negotiates vendor agreements in cooperation with Corporate Contracts and Procurement

 

Project Management:

 

  • Plans and manages IT infrastructure projects and assigns projects to qualified staff
  • Ensures project resources are completing tasks on schedule and within budget
  • Reports progress and closure of project activities to senior management
  • Performs cost and time estimates for other projects that affect IT infrastructure

Qualifications

Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):

  • Bachelors Degree or above in Computer Science
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, VCP, VCAP, ITIL or similar experience
  • 10 or more years experience in IT Infrastructure as an individual contributor
  • 5 years management experience
