Overview

Entegris is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Bedford, MA facility. 

 

Candidate will provide daily engineering support to their primary work center(s) of responsibility. The primary focus of this position is to ensure daily process control of the associated Products & Process Equipment while identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with process start-up, debug and scale-up of manufacturing processes;
  • Maintain process documentation – operating procedures, test specifications, test methods, component drawings, etc.;
  • Process Optimization – Identification and implementation of cycle time and yield improvement activities;
  • Assist in providing process training to direct labor force;
  • Reduce manufacturing waste through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles;
  • Perform routine defect analysis and implementation of corrective actions;
  • Assist R&D in process development activities associated with new products;
  • Participate actively in the NPD process and coordinate the transfer of new products into manufacturing;
  • Maintain process capacity models – Identify capacity constraints, capital equipment needs, and implementation of process optimization activities;
  • Analyze Customer Returns – Provide root cause analysis and timely corrective actions as appropriate;
  • Candidate must demonstrate proven hands on problem solving skills to provide sound decision making using good engineering practices as the basis for such decisions;
  • Candidate will take the lead in developing and implementing process improvement activities;
  • Change product, fixture and tooling prints as needed;
  • Implement changes properly through ECO/ECR process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8 plus years of relevant experience;
  • Related process-engineering experience preferably with deposition equipment;
  • Experience working in a Lean / Six Sigma environment;
  • PC literate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project);
  • Ability to apply SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, mathematics and statistics to solve complex manufacturing process problems;
  • Strong knowledge of PC based data acquisition would be a plus;
  • Ability to analyze process data to understand and improve manufacturing process control;
  • Ability to diagnose and make corrections for equipment faults;
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting pneumatics and electrical control systems;
  • Knowledge of vacuum coating equipment and deposition technologies preferred, but not required;
  • Strong project planning management skills;
  • Ability to interpret and generate complex mechanical component drawings;
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work with teams cross functionally;
  • Experience utilizing Solid works and AutoCAD
